Hello! I’m Hal Weitzman.

I’m an adjunct professor of behavioral science at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where I’ve taught communication to MBA students and executives since 2014.

My work has always centered on one question:

How do you take complicated ideas and make them clear, compelling and useful to other people?

I explored that question as a high-school teacher in inner-city London, then for 12 years as an editor and foreign correspondent at the Financial Times. Today, I continue that work as editor-in-chief of Chicago Booth Review, host of the weekly Chicago Booth Review podcast, and an executive communication coach.

Over the past decade, I’ve helped thousands of MBA students, senior executives, entrepreneurs and ambitious professionals communicate with greater clarity and confidence.

My approach is practical rather than performative. You do not have to become louder, slicker or less like yourself to improve your effectiveness.

Instead, I help you focus on understanding your audience, organizing your thinking, and expressing your ideas in a way that people can grasp and remember.

I started the Comms Prof to help you:

Say what you mean

and

get what you want.
